Migration has been called the “defining issue of our time”, and one that has significant public health implications. Despite the increasing media coverage and public discourse on migration worldwide, it can be difficult to parse out the meaning of the myriad migration terms, let alone how and where different types of migrants like refugees and the undocumented obtain healthcare.
