Mr. Williams is 63 year old patient at your Internal Medicine practice. On two visits, he has systolic blood pressures readings > 140 and lifestyle management has not improved the readings. He does not have diabetes mellitus or chronic kidney disease. You know that the JNC 8 guidelines recommend a race-based approach to initiating antihypertensives. How do you approach this?
